Magnifying Visors

Is it possible to light a candle with a magnifying glass?

Last summer around noon I tried to light a candle with a magnifying glass. It smoked a lot but didn't actually light. Is it possible? Has anyone done it?

1. Yes, it is possible, but unfortunately I haven't done it. The light that would normally land on the area of the magnifying glass is brought into a single point. so it has to be at the perfect length from the wick and the sun bright enough to light.
