Magnifying Visors

Use of a magnifying glass to enlarge a photo be a good technique?

I have a small photo. I was wondering, if looking thru a magnifying glass, and the using a digital camera to snap a picture of it thru the glass be a good way to somewhat make it bigger?

1. Why don't you just go try it? It may have some distortion, but you're not losing anything by trying it.
