How to DIY a fibre optics light circuit?

Anyone please help me? I'm creating a miniature model for school and just can't seem the right size of light. LED light is too big and I'm wondering if fibre optics do work. But I've never created a fibre optic circuit before. Any idea where to get it and how to create a fibre optic circuit? Or is there a version of LED light that is with a small bulb? Anyone? Please help me, thank you.

1. You mean big in size of angle of light. surface mount LED can be very small. And LASER give light in a small angle. It is adjusted by current.
